Proof of Residency
Posted Dec 1, 2014

In order to play in Capitol LIttle League, a player must live OR attend school inside our the league boundaries.  IF you live outside our boundaries and your child attends school inside our boundaries you MUST have a school enrollment form on file with the league.

A school enrollment form can be used to verify that your child is attending school within the league boundaries AND as your proof of residency.  A school enrollment form can be used even IF you reside inside our league boundaries but is required if you live outside of our boundaries.

Once completed the school enrollment form can be used from year to year as long as your child attends the same school; so you should retain for your records.  The school enrollment form can also be used for proof of residency for post season tournament play.

NOTE--SCHOOL ENROLLMENT FORM MUST BE SIGNED BY THE PRINCIPAL, VICE PRINCIPAL, DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT OR ASSISTANT DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT IN ORDER TO MEET LITTLE LEAGUE RULES.  FORMS SIGNED BY SCHOOL SECRETARY OR REGISTAR WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT DISTRICT LEVEL FOR POST SEASON PLAY.

Proof of residency MUST be for the physical address where the player resides.

NEW PROOF OF RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS: Beginning with the 2017 season, the following changes were implemented for the Residency and School Attendance Eligibility Requirements:

  • A school issued report card or performance record will no longer be accepted to establish school attendance. Either the school enrollment form or an official/certified school enrollment record dated prior to October 1, 2017 can be used to establish school attendance for the 2018 season. A Little League school enrollment form or sibling form (for children  under age 5)  can be used in lieu of the other proof of residency requirements and once completed is good as long as player is enrolled in same school district and plays in Capitol Little League.  RETAIN FOR FUTURE USE!

  • Also, residenceshall be established and supported by documents containing the full residence which includes parent(s) or guardian(s) name, street address, city, state and zip code information, dated or in force between February 1, 2017 (previous year) and February 1, 2018 (current year), from one or more documents from EACH of the three Groups outlined below:

 Group I

1. Driver’s License (photo ID of parent(s) or guardian(s) with qualifying residence address)

2. School records (home address of player’s parents or guardians)

3. Vehicle records (i.e., registration, lease, etc.)

4. Employment records
