Dick's Sporting Goods Shopping Event March 14-17 2025

Here are some basic things to know about Little League approved equipment:


Bats:
Baseball:
Any division can use a wood bat less than 33" long--pine tar is NOT allowed in Little League.
USA logo bats can be 2 1/4 to 2 5/8 inch diameter barrel. 

Tee Ball--must use a USA logo Tee Ball bat must be 26" or shorter.
AA Machine pitch--may use either a USA logo Tee Ball or regular bat must be 33" or shorter.
Minor & Major- a USA logo bat must be 33"or shorter. 
Intermediate & JR--a USA logo OR a BBCOR bat can be used-must be 34" or shorter.

Softball:
BPF 1.20 not more than 2 1/4" diameter less than 33" long.
Wood softball bat

NOT allowed any division:
Batting donuts
Pine Tar or similar substances
Thumb Guards
Choke-knobs
Choke-up assists

Batting Helmets:
Must be NOCSAE approved.
Can have face screens or C Flaps.
Cannot be painted (after market)
Can have stickers which don't cover more than 20% of surface but can not be offensive or contain references to drugs, tabacco/vaping or alcohol. 

Catchers gear:
Helmet must be NOCSAE approved and have a  face mask & throat guard regardless of style.
Chest protector and shin guards are required. 
Male catchers must wear a protective cup at all times.

Cleats:

No metal cleats allowed in Majors and below.  
Metal cleats allowed in Intermediate and JR divisions but NOT on the portable pitching mounds (most fields have them now in these divisions).

Gloves:
Baseball-
Pitchers may not use a gray or white glove exclusive of the piping.
Pitchers can wear a batting glove under the pitcher glove as long as its not white, gray or optic yellow.
Other players may use appropriate sized gloves for their position. 

Softball-
Pitchers glove may be any color except the color of ball being used in game (yellow).
No foreign material of a color different from the glove may be attached.
Other players may use appropriate sized gloves for their position.

Permitted in both divisions for pitchers:
Compression or Neoprene sleeve on pitching arm- solid color --black, white, gray or uniform color IF not the same color as ball being used.
May wear a play calling band on the glove arm on the wrist or forearm and it is NOT white, gray or optic yellow-umpire can require it to be removed if considered distracting to the batter. 

NOT permitted either division for pitchers.
Sweat bands or other items which could distracting to batter. 
Multicolored compression or neoprene sleeves.
