Refund Requests Spring 2020

REFUND REQUEST REGISTRATION and REFUND PROCESS 

Refund process for those who can not continue in 2020 baseball

Sports Connect is finishing a program which will allow us to send electronic refunds to parents.

This involves "grabbing money" from our bank account to send back funds electronically to the  debit/credit card of the person who  initiated the initial spring 2020 registration. 

In order to "grab the money" we need a refund pool in our Sports Connect online account.  

So we need to gather the information on how many refunds are needed  to have an adequate refund pool.

Sending me an email is cumbersome for tracking and doesn't always capture needed information. 

Therefore IF  you are needing to withdraw at this time because you can't play AFTER May 11 this year, please complete a Refund Request 2020 Spring from the Registration area of our website.  The registration is also linked to the bottom of this page. 

This will allow us to run reports to gather the needed information to fund the refund pool. 

We are able to do repeated refund batches and have processed refunds for those who have applied thru May 7.  
Another refund batch was processed on May 19-20 and a final batch will be done on June 3-4. 


Note:  IF you paid in an installment plan, the refunds will come back into your account in the installment amounts (all in one day) so please be sure to check for all the installments--some will be to different credit/debit cards depending on which was used for the specific payment.

We know some of our Challenger player or parents may find it difficult to continue for 2020 season.  We will welcome you back in 2021 when this CoVid19 is hopefully resolved. 

Season 2020:
Little League International has cancelled the Little League World Series and Regional tournaments for ALL division for 2020.  They have told leagues they can reopen their league operations based on the local government guidelines. 

In our District 3 WA, Capitol, Centralia, Chehalis, Chehalis Basin, Elma and Montesano have decided to try to play baseball following the reopening phases allowed in our counties under the Governor's plan.  Aberdeen, Larch Mountain, Willapa Harbor and South Beach have decided not to continue for 2020.  We do plan to play inter league games in most divisions with the other leagues continuing 

WE have set the following schedule (assuming NO further restrictions are issued).
 
June 20-22 Practices
will begin on our fields and hopefully some school fields. 
     JR, Minor and Major teams may begin games between June 20 & July 11 on limited fields where gathering size can be contained under 25.

July 11 or July 13 Games will begin for all.  We anticipate playing until AUGUST 30.  There may be a post season tournament for Minor, Major and JR divisions in early September--this will probably not be an all-star event rather teams willing to participate.

We hope most players will want to continue despite the timeline changes.

However, we recognize this time frame change means some families may NOT be able to participate in Little League for 2020 OR they have financial challenges which mean they have to withdraw. 

The time frame to request a Refund Request is from NOW until MAY 30 midnight.  

IF the Governor determines NO baseball will be played for 2020, we will set up a bulk refund process for remaining players at that time.  

Refund policy:
Our Capitol Little League board has revised our refund policy due to this CoVid19 event.

In the past we refunded the full registration fees paid IF the withdrawal request was received prior to ordering uniforms.  IF withdrawal request was received AFTER uniforms were ordered we retained $50 to cover league cost and made the uniform available to the parent. 

We did NOT order uniforms as yet for 2020 Spring season.  Therefore, that cost will not be deducted from refund requests for Spring 2020 up to the point when we do order uniforms.  

However, we have had costs getting our season started.  Therefore, we will be retaining $15 per player on refunds made for Spring Season 2020.  This will allow the league to have a safety net for ongoing operations.

Players who received partial scholarships will receive a full refund of monies paid.

We cannot refund the $3 per transaction fee/s collected by Sports Connect as we did not receive those funds.

We hope parents understand this situation is not something we can control. A small sum retained from each player now will help keep baseball available at Capitol Little League into the future.
