Little League International is asking us to "stay the course" for a bit longer with NO baseball activities being allowed prior to May 11.  

It is our goal to play baseball in 2020, IF we can safely do so. We expect to have final decision prior to May 11 and will let folks know ASAP when we do.

Season options being considered:

• Practices starting May 11, games starting June 1 to July 31(6 or 7 week period) with or without district /regional/LL World Series.

  OR

• Regular Fall ball season —mid-July to late Sept.

We hope most players will want to continue despite the timeline changes.

However, we recognize this time frame change means some families may NOT be able to participate in Little League for 2020 OR they have financial challenges which mean they have to withdraw.

Refund policy:

Our Capitol Little League board has revised our refund policy due to this CoVid19 event.

In the past we refunded the full registration fees paid IF the withdrawal request was received prior to ordering uniforms.  IF withdrawal request was received AFTER uniforms were ordered we retained $50 to cover league cost and made the uniform available to the parent. 

We did NOT order uniforms as yet for 2020 Spring season.  Therefore, that cost will not be deducted from refund requests for Spring 2020 up to the point when we do order uniforms.

However, we have had costs getting our season started.  Therefore, we will be retaining $15 per player on refunds made for Spring Season 2020.  This will allow the league to have a safety net for ongoing operations.

Players who received partial scholarships will receive a full refund of monies paid.

We cannot refund the $3 per transaction fee/s collected by Sports Connect as we did not receive those funds.

We hope parents understand this situation is not something we can control. A small sum retained from each player now will help keep baseball available at Capitol Little League into the future.

Refund process

Sports Connect is working on a program which will allow us to send electronic refunds to parents. This involves "grabbing money" from our bank account to send back funds electronically to parents debit/credit cards. 

We have been advised this program change will made very soon.    Sports Connect staff are working remotely so this is taking a bit longer than usual system enhancements.

We are NOT going to issue refunds until the electronic process is in place.

We will send an email blast with instructions on the process to request refunds when the electronic process is available. 

Please don’t send email requests now—I am concerned they will get lost in my inbox.

IF we need to cancel the entire Spring 2020 season, we will automatically process refunds to whoever paid for the player’s registration.  Again an email blast will notify you IF this occurs.

However, a season cancellation decision won’t be made until we receive guidance from Little League International.
