Which Division is Right for my player?

Which Division would be best for my player?

See the descriptions of divisions under the TABS marked SR (U16)JR (U15); Intermediate (U13); Majors (U12); Minors (U10); AA Minor-Machine Pitch (U8); T-Ball (U6)  and Challenger ( age 5 and above-differently abled). 

Some things to keep in mind when considering choosing a division for  your player:

League age for ALL divisions this year is AGE as of August 31,2023--use League Age Calculator link OR 2022 LEAGUE AGE CHART to             verify player league age.

Register for the division which you would prefer placement

Players league age 6 can chose between T-Ball and AA Machine pitch--most should be in Machine pitch. 

Players league age 4 & 5 will be in T-Ball by Little League rule. 

Players league age 11, 12  & 13 can play in Intermediate (U13)

Players league age 12, 13&  14 can play in JR (U14). 

        Players league age 14, 15 & 16 can play in SR (U16).

Challenger no fee


All divisions receive a full uniform of a hat, personalized jersey & pants.
T-ball and AA receive an adjustable hat and sox. 
Minors, Majors and JR receive a flex fit hat and belt. 


Challenger (differently abled players) has NO Fee.  New Challenger players receive a hat, jersey, belt and sox.  Returning Challengers receive replacement uniform pieces as needed due to growth or wear.

2023 Uniform fitting:

ALL players should have a  uniform fitting--there will be 2 opportunities during the same dates/times as kid pitch player evaluations. 

Equipment bank:

The league has an equipment bank for gloves and baseball shoes (no metal cleats).

The equipment bank will be open for both donations and folks to pick up needed equipment during kid pitch player evaluations. 

2023 Player Evaluations:

Tentatively the 2023 player evaluations will be held on FEB 11 AND FEB 25 AT PETER G. SCHMIDT. PLAYERS MUST ATTEND ONE PLAYER EVALUATION. 

ONLY KID PITCH PLAYERS HAVE PLAYER EVALUATIONS--NO T-BALL, CHALLENGER OR AA MACHINE PITCH PLAYERS WILL BE REQUIRED.

Players league age 8 & above new to Capitol Little League requesting placement in kid pitch divisions will require a player evaluation. 

Players from Spring 2022 teams are considered "property players"  unless they request a different team/coach on registration. 

Players league age 8 and above moving up from AA machine pitch to Minor Kid pitch will require a player evaluation even if moving up with same team-this is to determine readiness to play in kid pitch division. 

Players league age 10 requesting placement in Majors will require a player evaluation even if moving up with same team--this is to determine readiness to play in Majors (U12).

Players requesting placement in Intermediate 50/70 (U13) ; JR (U14)  or SR  (U15) will require a player evaluation even if moving up with the same to determine readiness to play in one or more of the "teen" divisions. 

Players requesting a release from their Spring 2022 team will require a player evaluation to enter the draft as free agent.
