Which Division?

Which Division would be best for my player?

See the descriptions of divisions under the tabs marked JR (14); Intermediate (U13); Majors (U12); Minors (U10); AA Machine Pitch (U8);
T-Ball

Some players can double roster in two divisions:
League age 11 & 12 may play in BOTH Majors and Intermediate.
League age 12 may play in Majors and EITHER Intermediate or Juniors.
League age 13 may play in BOTH Intermediate and Juniors.
League age 14 may play ONLY in Juniors.

PLAYERS WHO DOUBLE ROSTER CAN USE COUPON 77701 (updated code).  PLEASE REGISTER IN YOUR YOUNGEST DIVISION AND THEN USE THE COUPON FOR THE NEXT DIVISION.  IE--REGISTER IN MAJORS AND USE COUPON FOR EITHER INTERMEDIATE OR JUNIORS.  THE COUPON REDUCES THE COST OF THE SECOND DIVISION REGISTERED TO $40 TO COVER COST OF JERSEY AND HAT.

Some things to keep in mind when considering choosing a division for  your player:

League age for ALL divisions this year is AGE as of August 31,2019--use League Age Calculator link to verify player league age.

Register for the division which you would prefer placement

Players league age 9 and above MUST have a preseason player evaluation

Players league age 7 and 8 wanting to play in upper divisions must have a preseason evaluation

Players league age 6 can chose between T-Ball and AA Machine pitch--most should be in Machine pitch.

Players league age 4 & 5 will be in T-Ball.

IF player evaluation reveals a player should consider moving up or down, the parents will be contacted by a player agent to determine what they would like to do for their child.  In addition, if after practices begin, a manager feels a player needs to be moved to a different division, parents will be contacted by a player agent to discuss options.

Player Evaluations:

Player evaluations will be held on FEB 9 at Reeves Middle School 2200 Quince St NE Olympia-starting with Junior Division at 8:30 AM--followed by Intermediate, Majors and Minors.  Players should wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing--bring bat, glove and batting helmet (IF you have one).  Bats, gloves and helmets will be available on site if player does not have one currently.

Players who are League Age 8 and above are eligible for post-season tournament play, but must have a preseason player evaluation to participate in post season.

All players wishing to play Minors and above MUST have a pre-season player evaluation.

Parents should enroll their player in the division they think most closely matches the player’s ability.

IF you have a player who is League Age 8 and want the player considered for Minors Division, the player should sign up for Minors division and have a preseason player evaluation.

League Age 8 players may play AA and be considered for Tournament of Champion 8-9-10 post season team IF they have a preseason player evaluation. The player should sign up for AA Machine pitch.  Players who sign up for AA and do not have a p evaluation can not play in post season tournaments.

Player evaluations will be used as a basis to assure correct placement in the Minors to JR (U14) divisions.

In order to play in Minors division and above--some basic skills should be demonstrated:

  • Ability to hit a pitched ball with some consistency.
  • Ability to throw a baseball at least 60 feet without short hopping the ball.
  • Ability to safely block and field a hit or thrown ball.
  • Ability to catch a hit or thrown ball, retrieve it from the glove and throw with accuracy.
  • Ability to run bases.
  • Those wanting to pitch will throw some pitches to assess their form and ability/potential.
