TEAM STAFF REQUIREMENTS
NOTE: Volunteers who are intending to coach in more than ONE division, will need to signup IN each of the divisions and roles they intend to volunteer--IE head coach Major and assistant coach Minor.
ALL volunteers must have a yearly background check for participation in Little League--this includes board members and umpires as well as team staff--coaches and team helpers. When you apply for a team staff position, the system will send you a link to JDP to complete the information required for the background check. YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE ONE BACK GROUND CHECK PER YEAR (OCT-SEPT) DESPITE MULTIPLE ROLES.
Little League has started a new online training program for Safety requirements for ALL volunteers.
You will need a training account on the Little League website https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/create-a-little-league-training-account/ Please be sure you indicate Capitol Little League 04470301 on your training profile.
Classes required EACH year are:
Abuse Awareness (30 minutes)
Safety Awareness (30 minutes)
First Aid Awareness (30 Minutes)
Head coaches and assistant coaches will need a Diamond Leader certificate as well. IF you completed that training in 2023 or 2024 you will NOT need to do the program again for 2025. The link to the Diamond Leader training is https://www.littleleague.org/s/diamond+leader
