What do I need to know about Evaluation day?
- Only players league age 8 and above who had a pre-season evaluation can participate in post season (District and Tournament of Champions) tournaments—this include returning players.
- Player’s league age 7 wanting to have an evaluation for Minors should come at the time scheduled for Minors 8 and under.
- Player evaluations are used to determine correct placing for player’s league age 8 to 14 based on age and ability.
- We do NOT cut players but managers and player agents may decide to offer a player a position in a different division that the one which the player signed up to play. For example a player signed up in Minors may be offered either a Majors or AA position based on the evaluation results—parents/players can decline or accept the offered placement to a different division.
- Evaluations by necessity are very quick and are meant to give managers and player agents a method of seeing all the players in a division so they can make draft decisions.
- Evaluations will be looking at form in a skill and we don’t expect home runs in evaluations.
Quick information about Player placement/draft
Parents/players do NOT attend the Draft/placement events—it is for managers/coaches/player agents.
- DRAFT for Minors and above is FEB 29 at Tumwater Comfort Inn starting at 9 AM with rules review and 2020 safety information.
- Placement meeting for AA & T-ball is MAR 1 at Tumwater Comfort Inn starting at 3 PM.
Property player—any returning 2019 Spring player is property of their Spring 2019 team UNLESS:
- The parent requested a release and placement to another team on the sign up or to the president or player agent.
- The player moved up a division and their team/coach did not
- The team/coach up a division moved up but player did not.
- The player is in AA or T-ball or Challenger Divisions.
Note: Fall 2019 players do not have property rights to their Fall team, but can request placement with that team.
Requests for placement on new team-Minor and above will be communicated to all managers in the division during the Draft process on FEB 29, 2020. Managers will determine whether they can agree to honor the request. In these divisions there are mandatory team sizes of minimum of 12 and maximum of 15 players. In Majors division, ALL teams must have the same size roster. Minors, Intermediate and JR do not have that requirement.
Requests for placement on AA and T-ball teams will be honored as long as the team size does not exceed 13 players-goal is 12 per team-however friend requests can occasionally make that difficult.
Property rights in AA & T-Ball are honored whenever possible but often parents request new teammates/coaches or coaches don’t return so placement in these divisions are based on request for teammates, coaches and school mates. Managers meet on March 1 to finalize rosters.
When do we find out our player's team?
We will begin finalizing teams on March 2 and will publish by division—you will get an email indicating your player’s team roster has been activated on the website. You can then view the team on the team page.
The plan is to have all teams published as of end of day March 2 but sometimes issues pop up and it may be March 3 before ALL teams are published.
Managers will be able to send emails thru the team website about practices etc. as soon as the team page is activated.
The Mobile App won’t be activated until probably March 10 so we are sure all teams are finalized (no movement, drop outs or late added player).
