Phase 3 approved & Face covering rules clarified

Earlier today we learned Thurston County has been approved for Phase 3--which means full practices and games can be held.

We are waiting on some school fields to be open so we do have a revised practice schedule up for this week--it may last until next week IF the school fields don't open until a bit later.

Face coverings:

I just received this response from Jon Synder in the Governor's office:

"Whether it is practice in phase 2 or games in phase 3 there is no requirement, at this time, for masks while participating in team outdoor recreation, including baseball. With the new mask order announced yesterday participants would need masks when they are not actively participating in games, such as when they are waiting on the bench.

The Department of Health guidance calls for facial coverings of children over the age 2, but once again, there is an exception for those who are exercising outdoors:

So our current guidelines for Players and Coaches will remain:

Players and coaches do not need to wear face coverings while actively participating in practices or games or while in dugouts unless they can not socially distance.   However--if player or coach wishes to use a face covering they may do so.  The league has a small supply of disposable face masks available if needed.  Coaches will have those available at practices and games on our fields.

Our Guidelines for Spectators will remain the same with the addition of a face covering requirement IF you can not maintain social distance from other persons NOT in your household.

Thanks so much for your patience with the process.
